Title: Northern Prairie Wildlfe Research Center (NPWRC)
Web Site: (http://www.npwrc.usgs.gov/)
The Northern Prairie Wildlife Research Center maintains several pages of interest. It contains lists of species which can be accessed by county for Ephemeroptera (mayflies), Odonata (dragonflies and damselflies), Plecoptera (stoneflies), Coleoptera: Cicindelidae (tiger beetles), and Lepidoptera (2 lists - one for moths and one for butterflies). (The Park falls in Culberson and Hudspeth counties.) By accessing the species listed, you can obtain a map showing its statewide distribution, some pictures of the species and often some descriptive and habitat information.
None of these pages can be regarded as entirely up to date but they form a good starting point. For instance the moth listing is clearly superceded by Knudson's compilation. The tiger beetle listing falls short on the current recognition of subspecies. The mayfly listing does not list one of the species found in the Park although the paper is present in the reference bibliography for the distributions.
