The authors have collected Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths) in the Park over a number of years.
This volume is an 81/2 by 11", spiral bound book. While it contains a list of the butterflies encountered by Knudson together with photographs of these species, the main focus of Dr. Knudson's work has been with moths. This volume lists the names of over 1000 species of moths collected by Dr. Knudson. Unfortunately, most moths do not have common names so only the scientific names are given. Perhaps more importantly, it contains color plates with pictures of more than 200 moth species. This is very useful since field-guide-type material on moths is not generally available. A representative sample of Dr. Knudson's moth specimens are on deposit with the Park in the arthropod cabinet of the Park's Museum.
