This picture shows another scorpion but a different species. It looks much like the picture of Vaejovis coahuilae in Jackman's "Field Guide to the Spiders and Scorpions of Texas" but Jackman does not show all the species possible in this area; hence the uncertainty in the identification. Dr. Henson (1999) indicates that Vaejovis coahuilae is common in the Park. Apparently it does not have a common name. For those interested in scorpion biology, there is a book, albeit not an inexpensive one, called "The Biology of Scorpions" edited by Gary Polis (c 1990).
