Juniper Hairstreak

Class: Hexapoda (animals with six legs - includes all insects)
    lepido = scale and ptera = wings (singular is pteron)
    The wings are covered with small scales.
Order: Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths)
Family: Lycaenidae (harvesters, coppers, hairstreaks and blues)
Subfamily: Theclinae (hairstreaks)
Species: Callophrys gryneus

Like the Blues, the Hairstreaks are generally small butterflies that tend to perch with their wings closed. The common name for the subfamily arises from the presence of small hairlike extensions on the rear wings of many of the included species.
